New book with profits donated to Sands NI


"History of Coleraine Cricket Club 1853-2010"

Proceeds will be donated to Sands NI.

 

All proceeds will be donated to SANDS (Stillbirth and Neo-natal Death Charity) and will be used to provide hospitals throughout Northern Ireland with ‘Precious Memory Boxes’. These are boxes containing a hand-knitted blanket, camera, hand and foot print set, teddies and other keepsakes that bereaved parents can use to create memories of their precious babies.

70 year old Londonderry born Billy Platt is publishing an illustrated 500 €“ 600 page book entitled " History of Coleraine Cricket Club 1853 - 2010 " this coming  May.

The book , which will be printed by Coleraine Printing Company, traces cricket played in Coleraine from the early 1850's to the end of the 2010 season and reveals in great detail that cricket club's existed in Articlave, Castlerock, Ballinteer, Balnamore,Ballymoney Bushmills, Downhill, Macosquin, Portrush and Portstewart and logs all Coleraine's matches against these cricket clubs down through the years.

150 copies of the book are to be printed and following payment of the printing costs (£5000) all proceeds from the book will be donated to SANDS (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity).  All proceeds will be donated to SANDS (Stillbirth and Neo-natal Death Charity) and will be used to provide hospitals throughout Northern Ireland with Precious Memory Boxes™.  These are boxes containing a hand-knitted blanket, camera, hand and foot print set, teddies and other keepsakes that bereaved parents can use to create memories of their precious babies.

The launch of the book will take place in the Coleraine Rugby Football and Cricket Club and following the issue of complimentary copies, in lieu of donations received to cover the printing costs, it is anticipated that a reasonable contribution will be forwarded to SANDS.
